Stein’s Mussel Fest 2013

March is the best month for mussels.

Head to the Cornish Arms in St Merryn (Jill and Rick Stein’s place in St Merryn) for the 2nd annual Beer & Mussel Festival on the weekend of 16/17 March 2013.

Gorge on juicy mussel flesh plucked from beautiful blue shells and dunk fistfuls of perfectly fried fries into the mussel sauce, be it marinière or garlic & chilli. With live music, a variety of beers and Cornish mussels cooked to compliment the booze it’s sure to be a lively occasion.

The current (2013) head chef at The Cornish Arms is Luke Taylor, and he has worked there for over 10 years. Delivering a simple British pub menu, it is popular with locals and visitors alike. The simple menu includes dishes such as real beef burgers, mussels ‘n’ chips and scampi in the basket.

All dogs are welcome in the pub but they must be kept on their leads. Rick and Jill were named tenants of the year by St Austell Brewery in 2012.
