What’s on in Cornwall Spring 2017
They say spring has sprung when Cornish magnolia trees burst into flower and show more than 50 blooms. Caerhays, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah, Trewidden, Tregothnan and Trewithen Gardens all declared it to be spring at the start of the month, which is a little later than last year’s early February blossom. However, March is also the start of many traditional Cornish spring events. Take a look and see what’s on:

World Pasty Championships at the Eden Project
The 6th annual pasty championships with live music and entertainment.
4th – 6th March
St Piran’s Day Celebrations
Cornwall’s Patron Saint sees celebrations in Redruth (4th), Perranporth (5th), Truro (5th) and Bodmin (6th), all starting around 11am.
17th – 19th March
The Cornish Arms Beer & Mussel Festival
Around 40 different beers and ciders plus plenty of mussels at Rick Stein’s pub in St Merryn.
24th – 27th March
Oyster Gathering & Cornish Produce Festival
Head to Custom House, Falmouth, to celebrate the end of the oyster gathering.

Boscastle Walking Week

Celebrations on Camborne with vintage vehicles, market stalls, entertainment and a steam parade takes place.

St Agnes Bolster Festival
One of Cornwall’s unusual traditions, watch as giant puppets take to the cliffs at Chapel Porth. A bonfire and BBQ take place in the evening and the pageant on Sunday.

Watch as the May King and Queen are chosen and a parade takes place followed by a fish barbeque and lively market.

Helston Flora Day
Celebrating the end of winter, the town gets decorated with flowers and couples dance through the streets.
