All about Porth

We have a number of self-catering properties in Porth, plus our hotel, Porth Veor Manor.
All are just over 1.5 miles from Newquay.

Beside the seaside…

Centred around the award-winning beach, Porth is part of a small seaside village in the parish of St Columb Minor just over 1.5 miles from Newquay. Popular with families with its golden sand and clear water, the beach has lifeguard cover throughout the peak season.

To the north of the beach lies Porth Island or Trevelgue Head, a former iron age hill fort and a great place to take a walk.

It’s not difficult to imagine smugglers taking over this beach. A network of caves runs along each rocky side of the beach. At low tide, there’s plenty to explore.

Out of season, from 1 October until Easter, dogs are welcome on the beach.

Eating

All guests at our accommodation are welcome to use the facilities at Porth Veor Manor Hotel. Drop in for a drink at the bar from lunchtime onwards or perhaps order afternoon tea or coffee. Cakes and fresh scones are often available.

The hotel is situated overlooking Porth beach and there’s even a secret pathway linking the beach to the gardens!

Ice creams and refreshments are available from the kiosks and cafés surrounding the beach. There are also some nearby pubs and tea rooms.

Not too far away in Newquay, there are also several well-known eateries as well as fish and chip shops, including Rick Stein at Fistral, as well as various takeaways.
